Experimental Temperature Forecasts from POAMA-1.5

Plots on this page give forecast anomaly for maximum temperature, calculated using the POAMA 1.5 hindcast climatalogy for the period 1980-2006.

Next 30 days maximum temperature anomaly forecast

These plots show the ensemble mean of the last 10 daily forecasts, averaged over 15 day periods. The left image shows the mean anomaly for the next 15 days while the right image shows the mean anomaly for the subsequent 15 days.

Monthly maximum temperature anomaly forecast

The monthly plots show the ensemble mean of the monthly temperature averages from the last 30 forecasts. The left image is the mean anomaly for the next month while the right image shows the mean anomaly for the subsequent month.

Seasonal temperature anomaly forecast

The seasonal plot displays the daily maximum temperature, averaged over the next three months.
