OASIS is a general purpose coupler that enables fields to be exchanged
between different programs at regular intervals. In POAMA it is used
to exchange fields between ocean and atmosphere ocean per day.
OASIS was developed at CERFACS
(European Centre or Research and Advanced Training in Scientific Computation),
France. For more information see the CERFACS
Global Change and Climate Modelling web site.
THere are two enhancements to the coupling in POAMA-1.5 compared to POAMA-1:
- Representation of ocean currents in the calculation of the atmosphere stress
- Resolution of the diurnal cycle by coupling every 3 hours.
