Documentation for POAMA-1.5 and POAMA-2 Systems
POAMA-1.5 System
The POAMA-1.5 system is a preliminary version of the POAMA-2 system. It has been released ahead of the POAMA-2 because not all components of the POAMA-2 are ready for a full release. The components of the POAMA-1.5 system are:
- Bureau atmospheric Model T47L17
- ACOM2 Ocean Model based on GFDL MOM2
- OASIS Coupler
- Optimum Interpolation Ocean Assimilation System (Smith et al 1991)
- New ACCESS Atmosphere Land Initialisation System (ALI)
POAMA-2 System
The complete POAMA-2 system will consist of the POAMA-1.5 system and the following additional enhancements:
- Enhanced resolution for the atmospheric model (T63L17: subject to benefits outweighing additional cost)
- New ACCESS ocean data assimilation system (PEODAS) based on an extension of the BODAS system.
- A new method for generating forecast ensembles
